This article discusses how certain school districts are getting school dropouts back into school. It also tells about Trenton, New Jersey, that have successfully worked to re-enroll dropouts. They also explain how you can effectively run programs to recover these dropouts.

I was surprised to find that not only my county have a low graduation but all of the United States. In the beginning paragraph alone Mr. Morial hits you with the percentages of high schools and college graduates, showing an 18% difference in the two numbers. He also show specific percentages of some states which have a lower rate than the overall percentage of the United States. Mr. Morial later goes to point out that the National Urban League (an organization in which he is the president and CEO) is reaching out to urban communities to influence them to continue their education.

In this article they pin point the reasons and solution to solve the drop out rate of African Americans living in the United States. Dr. Chavis also discusses different situations he had to face growing up, explaining evening though he faced many problems he still fought through it to reach where he is now. He believes that the African Americans that have decided to drop out are only running away from their problems instead of facing them; which they should do. As a closing remark in his article he reinforces his idea of getting these drop outs to return to school, only if they want to. Dr. Chavis believes that education is the key to unlock anything in this world, so he personally is reaching out to help any one of all ethnicity to return to school.
